High-fat diet induces anti-inflammatory effect in experimental colitis

The prevalence of ulcerative colitis, one the inflammatory bowel diseases, has been increasing worldwide. Though fatty diet leads to development only little is known about separate and combined effects different fat compositions intermittent fasting, preventative dietary changes on experimental colitis. In this study, we investigated effect feeding type frequency inflammation Five groups, each comprising 7 male Wistar albino rats, were formed viz. Colitis (as a control), High sucrose + Colitis, Intermittent fasting Colitis. group (experimental group) was not fed for 2 days (non-consecutive) in week (except water), otherwise with ad libitum. Following 7-wk application, rats treated intrarectal administration 4% acetic acid (pH 2.4). After sacrificed, levels interleukin-1β, insulin, C-reactive protein, leptin, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, insulin-like growth factor-1 adiponectin analyzed from blood samples. Analyzes results revealed statistically significant decrease interleukin-6 groups (P <0.05). According these findings, amount composition may have protective against further enhances by lowering proinflammatory cytokine reducing systemic body. &nbsp
